Time to Post and Decide Direction

Good morning,
This is the initial post on this new blog. It's lain quiet since I started it a few months ago, mainly for a lack of ideas and interest in what to post about. But since Nancy @ Smarty Pants has me blogrolled now I figure I better get something going here. Just what to get going though, I haven't a clue. And yes Catnip if you're reading, that means I'm clueless. Not so full of myself that I'm too big to admit my shortcomings.

I named this blog Ahni-Wodi because I have a fascination with my indigenous heritage and also because the paint clan suits my vocation as a custom painter/artist. I intend to research my family's history as best I can and see if I can determine what clan my Grandmother was born into so I don't continue to use the paint clan as my own, as it wasn't given to me. It makes me uncomfortable. The problem is that Grandma was adopted as a small girl and she knew little about her Mother, a full blood Cherokee or her immediate family before she was taken from Oklahoma. If there are any records of her birth I might get lucky.

Until then I want to share my work here and post music of course, the second best form of expression for me, and write here about my involvment in the anti-war and counter-recruitment efforts going on around the country. This Saturday I'll be down in Washington for another of the larger (I hope) Peace marches. In the leadup to this march the local police and federal forces, and the Interior Dept. have been harrassing and fining the A.N.S.W.R. Coalition for putting up flyers and posters on telephone poles aroung DC saying they violate the law that specifies what grade of glue you can use! Yeah, that's right, tens of thousands of dollars in fines for not using the proper glue. Meanwhile thousands of people, ours and not ours, are dying and being killed. Iraqis continue to flee their country and flee American and domestic torturers, and we here at home (riiight) continue to have our rights stripped away from us. We're talking glue here! What a fucked country, top to bottom!

Anyway, here's a song to get started with. It's too bad that there isn't a way to change the suicidal thinking in this country with music. But if it changes someone's hopeless outlook for just a few minutes then it's served it's purpose.

This first car is a '57 Chevy 210 that I flamed a couple of months ago. It's not bad, but it's nothing spectacular either :o)

The second picture is of a Chevy Duelly (duel rear wheels) pickup that I'm finishing up today. All that's left to do is to airbrush in some shadowing to give it a 3D effect, then to clear it and polish it.

The last is a '37-'38 ? Willys Coupe that's my next victim. This car is immaculate and represents a step up for me in the caliber of car and quality that I'll be working on.

Enjoy :o)

Oh, and one more car. This last one (I promise!) is a '34 Ford Coupe that I finished up maybe 2 months ago. No graphics or flames, just black, but properly done, there are few things more gorgeous than a deep, and shiny black paint job!
